Education had always been a problem in our country. A country where getting a square meal on a daily basis is not easy, education is burden. Parents expect their children especially boys to complete education and work and earn for their family in order to feed them. Things become worse when it comes to girls. Men are always considered as breadwinners of their family, whereas girls are expected to marry and look after her family. Due to this, people often overlook female education.
After the human rights act in 1993, things turned better, when people were being aware regarding the importance of female education. But still, it doesn’t ensure that female literacy rate increases. These days, individuals notice instruction as malicious, as it negates numerous social convictions and odd notions, which have strictly been followed from many years. People are not able to answer when educated children question their wrong deeds, so they point education as the culprit. But how is divorce connected to education? and why is education of women related to increasing of divorce rate? Let’s continue to know more.
WHY DO PEOPLE LINK EDUCATION TO DIVORCE?
Divorce is the legal dissolution of a marriage by a court as said by oxford dictionary. It’s easier in western countries, but not in India. It’s because here when two people marry, it’s not only them, it’s actually two families tying the pious knot of marriage. Divorce has always observed as destructive, anti-social, and disrespectful for the family. Post-divorce effects are even worse, and mostly affect the females. A women’s family refuses to accept her. It’s 2021 and we should understand how divorce is actually the best solution for a couple who do not want to stay with each other at any cost.
Mutual understanding and trust is the base of every relation. If the base is not strong, then neither partners nor the family can live peacefully. It’s better to separate than to suffer in a toxic relationship throughout life. Families should understand the decision of their children. Today, the facts are too far than just what people think in society. Divorce is not an insult rather it shows that you wanted a better life and didn’t settle for less.

SOCIETY AND EDUCATION IN THE PAST
Earlier when education wasn’t accessible for most of the families, decisions were generally taken wrong. Children had no audacity to question elders. They simply followed what everyone else did. Yes we accept that marriages were long lasting then, but at what cost? Today when most of the people are literate, they can identify what’s wrong and right. This generation is totally against tolerating crimes, which were overlooked earlier. Maybe this is the reason why the present generation is entitled as aggressive arrogant and disobedient.
The customs and traditions which we have are correct but not appropriate for the present world. A lot many things have changed and with time, these traditions have also upgraded. Earlier women were dependent on men for their livelihood and so men were the final decision makers of the family. But now, women have stood for their rights and have become independent. Educating women makes them realize how unfair their life could be. Earlier women were kept in the dark, but now, the knowledge has enlightened their minds to take the best decision for them and overcome a noxious marriage.
GENDER ROLES IN A SOCIETY

Earlier, males were the dominating gender in the society. All jobs and fields were dominated by men and women were expected to look after household chores like cooking, cleaning, and taking care of their family. They were imparted learning of these chores from their childhood. But after equal educational opportunities, people started to identify their true potentials.
No gender in any way is entitled to do certain work, or is entitled to act in a certain way. They learnt that cooking and cleaning are the basic skills that every individual should know for an independent life. If a woman wants to be the breadwinner of her house, then it is a matter of pride and if a man decides to be at home and take care of his family, then it’s okay and is not a matter of shame. Currently every role, which isn’t harming anyone, irrespective of gender is acceptable.
ONLY STRONG MARRIAGES SUSTAIN
It’s not that education has only promoted divorces. It has helped youngsters to take good decisions about their life. Earlier only the elders of the family took judgement in their hands, but now the youngsters too take part in pointing out their thoughts regarding their wedding. A good communication increases the chances of sustenance of the relationship. Education helps people identify what they want and what they are. It’s crucial to understand that proper education ensures right decision for everyone.
A successful divorce can also be a matter of celebration with full pride. Nobody deserves a marriage filled with hatred, doubt, torture, anxiety, etc., therefore divorce is the best solution for such couple. People can live freely without having a fear of living in a forceful marriage life . We can conclude that educating women doesn’t increase divorce rates, rather helps them the overcome a deadly relationship. It helps them to know their worth and they understand that they deserve a better life.
