I understand, as a student/teenager you come across many problems and you define them as
- Personal problems which is a high level problem, I say, that includes all of your personal issues
- Academic problems which is a low level problem that includes all of your academic stuff such as marks, grades, home works etc. However, there is still something that is missing in between these two problems. What is it?
You focus on your academic problems, feeling as if they are high level problems in a way such that you don’t even make time to find what that missing component is. Now, take a moment and probe into the problems you face, apart from the problems mentioned above.
Very good, if you answered the above question. I name these problems as intermediate problems. Yes, the missing component is intermediate problems and they are what elevate the meaning of our living.
So, what are the common problems faced by students:
- Public speaking
- Communication
- procrastination
- Time management
- Stress and depression
Yes, what you read is correct. Personal problems are something which will be there all the time and the academic problems, do not even care about them. But overcoming intermediate problems is very much necessary irrespective of who you are and where you are from. They help you with everything and moreover they assist you form a bridge between the other problems you go through.
CASE STUDY:
We did a little survey among 500 college students where each student is asked to cast their vote to the problem/problems they are currently going through. Amazingly we got 845 votes and the report is:

And the worldwide report says:

So, you will learn about
- What is the problem?
- How to overcome the problem? And
- Why should you overcome the problem?
1. Public Speaking

What is public Speaking in your perspective? I know what your answer is, and I say public speaking doesn’t only have to be about speaking in front of tens and hundreds of people. However, it is still a little part of public speaking. Then what public speaking actually is? Even talking to a single person is considered as public speaking but we will look deep into the first answer which is ‘speaking to tens and hundreds of live audiences’.
Why do you fear public speaking? Either you are scared of people or you are not good with words or any other thing, just reason out the reasons. There are 3 main reasons I believe why people fear speaking publicly Thoughts, Situations and lack of skills.
“You become what you believe, not what you think or what you want”
Thoughts
You come across approximately 60,000 thoughts every day and one cannot assure that all of those are positive, besides you can only work on a few every day. Whatever the thoughts are, they all start with a simple idea that you give to your mind and you believe in the thoughts that are generated further.
I strongly suggest you to think twice over the thought on which you are going to take an action. First of all evaluate whether the thought is constructive or destructive. For instance: if you give your 100% for the thought “I cannot speak”, you for sure cannot because you are not only thinking but also you believe in what you think. So, decide whether you want to give a positive idea or a negative idea.
Skills & Situations
Start with a positive note everyday which means be optimistic in every step you take, try to face any type of situation such as you lack experience or you do not have any ideas to discuss about and etc. with a simple optimistic smile on your face and one of the best ways to improve yourself and stay updated is to learn multiple skills, which is skill stacking. A person with multiple skills will be more confident because he has the ability to connect with multiple people who has multiple skills.
How to overcome the problem?
Understand and be confident about what and who you are. Never underestimate yourself just because somebody is good at something that you don’t know, remember you have a lot of accessibilities out there to learn and execute.
Never lose an opportunity to speak, always try to network with people. If you are nervous about talking to tens of live audiences in the very beginning, do worry then, because in the worst part you can always start with small. Talk to a single stranger open-heartedly and grow the number gradually.
Why should you overcome the problem?
Public speaking is an art. Such an art that can mesmerize people and grab any kind of person’s attention towards it, just through some positive words. And that type of person is what the world needs today, to have influence over people and serve the society in various ways.
2. Communication

This is another problem that’s linked with public speaking and you do not have to worry about public speaking if you are good at communication. Good communication is what connects people but one should be able to express their feelings and thoughts properly in order to avoid confusion.
If your communication isn’t clear, people find it hard to get connected with you and your message and you should overcome this to avoid that confusion, after all communication is nothing but sharing your ideas and thoughts with another person.
How to overcome the problem?
- Listen as much as you can
- Practice with a partner
- Read children books and comic books
- Take advantage of free online media
- Believe in yourself
